New Control4 Touchscreen Remote

Control4 has launched the Neeo touchscreen remote for the Control4 operating system. Utilizing the Control4 Smart Home OS 3 platform, it’s the first Control4 remote to combine hard buttons with a touchscreen, offering homeowners intuitive control of a Control4-based smart home, from streaming services, playlists, TV stations and dmart home functionality.

The Swiss designed Neeo is built from machined aluminum designed to protect the edge-to-edge touchscreen, thereby improving durability, and features a high-resolution three-inch LCD touchscreen that offers one-touch navigation.

Available in either silver or black finishes, it ships with a matching charging station. Fully charged, the remote will run for up to five days.

The Control4 Smart Home OS 3 unifies connected devices from various brands. Family members in a Control4 powered home have at-a-glance views of virtually every connected device, as well as numerous options for control including voice with Alexa and Google Assistant, the Control4 App, Control4 touchscreen, a TV on-screen display and with the Neeo Remote.

Control4 OS 3 personalisation automatically extends through to Neeo. Swiping right reveals video sources, such as a Blu-ray player and games console. One-touch icons for the most-watched channels, are coupled with an on-screen keypad allowing channel numbers directly.

The touchscreen reduces the number of buttons on the Neeo Remote, making it easier to learn and use, making for an intuitive universal remote control. By including only the most common buttons such as power, mute, volume, and home, Neeo offers easy control without taking eyes off the screen.

“The modern smart home needs simple interfaces to start a movie, select a playlist, or lock a door. Neeo was expertly designed to be beautiful, and with Control4 OS 3, it’s also the easiest way for a family to enjoy entertainment in their homes,” explains Charlie Kindel, SnapAV chief product and technology officer. “Neeo is a reflection of our obsession for creating the most elegant and simple interfaces for the refined smart home.”
