Samsung has officially crowned the 8k Q950TS king of its 2020 TV line-up. First seen at CES, the new flagship combines a refined ultra-slim 15mm design with six-speaker sound system and advanced AI image processor.
The full-array set, which will be available in 65, 75 and 85 inch screen sizes, features an Infinity Screen design with next-to-no bezel for a 99 per cent screen to body ratio. It’ll be joined by the Q900T and Q800T 8k models, covering screens from 55- to 98-inches.
Picture quality is being enhanced by a new #Quantum Dot AI 8k upscaling processor, while an Adaptive Picture sensor analyses and adjusts for ambient light conditions. All 8k screens will sport HDMI 2.1 inputs.
As with 2019 models, HDR support includes #HLG and #HDR10+, but not Dolby Vision.
The brand will also broaden its 4k line-up this year, with Q60T, Q70T, Q80T, Q90T and Q95T models, covering sizes from 43- to 85- inches.
Innovations making their debut include an Active Voice Amplifier, which compensates for background noise, automatically adjusting vocal clarity accordingly, and Objecting Tracking Sound+ (OTS+) is used to create a three-dimensional soundstage.
The lifestyle Frame TV line-up will also be expanded with 32- and 75-inch models. The new sets will also have an AI based auto-curation feature, able to suggest artwork in line with the specific tastes of the owner.
