Sky Glass and Stream get firmware boost

Sky Glass and the new Sky Stream puck have enjoyed a major firmware upgrade that has brought a number of big usability upgrades to the Sky Entertainment OS.
These include changes to the Playlist and Bluetooth connectivity, although the expected improvement to Sky Glass picture quality is not part of the drop.
The Playlist function, which replaces local recording on both devices, has moved further up the homepage, to improve access to movies and programmes which have been saved to Sky’s Cloud DVR. It’s now the first choice on the category rail.
There’s also a new Continue Watching rail on the homepage, to make it easier to return to what was last viewed.
All Playlist rails have been ordered by date, and there’s the addition of a Most Recent rail. Significantly, the platform now sees the most recent episode of TV shows first, negating the need to scroll through every episode and series on a showpage, in search of what to watch.
There has also also been a Bluetooth boost, allowing viewers to pair Bluetooth headphones for private listening.
Picture quality improvements to Sky Glass, which include the reworking of the backlight algorithm, are expected to land before Christmas.
