Panasonic TV new range

Things we like: Panasonic new range of TV’s

As one of our goto brands we’re excited to read about Panasonic new range of TV’s from Inside CI.

Panasonic has unveiled its 2024 TV range line-up at a TV Experience event in Dusseldorf, introducing a trio of new OLED models, powered by Fire TV, an upgraded Mini LED offering and the option of a low cost LED telly running the newly reinvented Tivo smart OS. The new OLED models join the flagship Z95A and Z93A TVs announced at CES this year.

Leading this latest charge is the Z90A, which combines a Master OLED Pro panel, with HCX Pro AI Processor MK II. This shiny new chipset is said to enable the TVs to offer class leading colour, contrast, and clarity. It’s joined by the Z85A OLED,

The Z90A is available in 42-, 48-, 55-and 65-inch screen sizes and the Z85A, available in 55- and 65-inch screen sizes. There’s also the entry-level Z80A OLED, also in 55- and 65-inches, which offers VRR support up to 120Hz, with AMD FreeSync Premium certification and Dolby Vision up to120Hz. It also features Surround Sound Pro.

All these top-end 2024 Panasonic OLED TVs are G- all NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified. When a set is connected to a PC using a NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card, it automatically optimises input lag and VRR settings, for smooth, tear-free gaming.

Representing QD Mini LED is the W95A, followed by the W90A, combining Full Array LED backlighting, both with an HCX Pro AI Processor MK II.

These new LED models could make quite a mark in the mainstream. The W95A is a big step up on the brand’s first foray into Mini LED. Available in 55-, 65- and 75-inch screen sizes, and offers impressive wide colour and deep blacks.

The W90A, with Full Array Local Dimming, is slightly more affordable. It’s available in 43-, 50-, 55-, 65-inch screen sizes. Both utilise the Fire TV smart platform.

For media room duties, all the new premium sets also offer Filmmaker mode with proprietary Intelligent Sensing, for optimum HDR performance even in rooms with high ambient light.

As with the OLED models, the smart platform on these LED models is Fire TV, and the sets ship with Alexa Voice Remote. The W95A and W90A are Panasonic’s first LED TVs to offer Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) up to 144Hz, and are AMD FreeSync Premium certified.

A True Game Mode reproduces games as intended by game developers, for industry standard colour accuracy. There’s Dolby Vision gaming support up to 144Hz.

The Game Control Board gives quick access to input lag and VRR, and RPG and FPS modes. The Game Control Board can be added to the MyApp button for one-click convenience.

The W95A and W90A are Dolby Atmos enabled. The former also has Dynamic Theatre Surround Sound built-in, with an additional subwoofer for deeper bass.

Finally, available in 43, 50, 55, and 65-inch sizes, the W60A brings the option of a Tivo smart TV experience, as an alternative to Fire TV, complete with personalisation options and the brand’s exclusive thumbs up/thumbs down ratings system.
